About the Role: Design Intern at Prophet

Prophet is seeking a passionate and talented Design Intern to join their global design studio. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure and experience in translating complex brand strategies into powerful and purposeful creative concepts. You will work alongside experienced designers, contributing to high-impact projects for a diverse range of clients.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Design Solutions: Actively support the design team in developing creative design solutions from initial conception through to implementation. This includes ensuring all designs strategically translate and effectively support the overarching brand strategy.
  • Team Partnership: Foster and maintain a cohesive and successful partnership with colleagues across the creative team, ensuring smooth collaboration and effective project delivery.
  • Feasibility and Guidelines: Work closely with both the creative and production teams to ensure the feasibility of design solutions. You will also contribute to articulating clear design principles and guidelines for effective implementation.
  • Software Expertise: Proactively maintain and enhance your expertise in industry-standard graphic design software packages, including the Adobe Suite, Figma, and AI Tools.
  • New Business Involvement: Participate in new business efforts and pitches as requested, contributing your creative insights and design skills.
  • Presentation Skills: Present and clearly substantiate all creative work to internal teams, including logos, visual identities, and comprehensive visual systems.

  • Strong Design Fundamentals: Demonstrated strong knowledge of typography, layout, and color theory, alongside proficiency in the latest design tools such as Adobe Suite, Figma, and AI Tools.
  • Portfolio Excellence: An excellent portfolio showcasing strong brand identity and visual system thinking.
  • Communication Skills: Solid interpersonal capabilities combined with superlative verbal, visual, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Design Understanding: A baseline understanding of various design methodologies, including user-experience/interface design, information design, and corporate identity/branding.
  • Presentation Ability: The ability to clearly explain and articulate design issues in writing, and dynamically present ideas to senior management and public groups.
  • Educational Background: Recently completed a BFA degree program or currently enrolled in an MFA program, with the capacity to work 40 hours per week.
