Product Preparer / Demonstrator | Crossmark Inc.

The Tone:
This is a part-time role at Crossmark Inc., performed within various retail store environments. Crossmark, through its Product Connections agency, is dedicated to reimagining how consumers interact with brands through digital and traditional retail events, including product demonstrations. This position is vital for directly connecting consumers with specialty products by ensuring they are expertly prepared and engagingly presented, ultimately driving purchase decisions and supporting brand success within retail settings.

• Mission: Drive product sales and consumer engagement by safely and effectively preparing, demonstrating, and sampling specialty food and beverage products in a retail setting, connecting brands directly with consumers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Preparation: Properly set up the demonstration area and prepare juice or other specialty products for purchase, ensuring all production requirements are met.
• Consumer Engagement: Conduct engaging food sampling and product demonstrations, adhering to general set-up and teardown guidelines, to effectively support business needs and promote brand awareness.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety requirements when using equipment like hot machinery or sharp blades, practice proper lifting techniques, and ensure strict adherence to safe food handling, preparation, production, packaging, labeling, merchandising, and disposal procedures.
• Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe work area using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment, and follow safety and compliance guidelines for machine operation, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Reporting & Scheduling: Accurately complete all required reporting, including online submissions, and regularly check the product event schedule and email for updates, corporate news, event changes, instructions, and supervisor requests.
• Team Support & Development: Assist other teammates with event set-up or clean-up and/or with kitchen duties when needed, and complete all required certifications and attend special training sessions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires an applicable state and local food safety certification or license, demonstrating essential knowledge and adherence to health regulations.
• Experience: No specific number of years is required; however, previous experience in Product Marketing, Product Demonstrations, or within the food, beverage, or restaurant industry is preferred for candidates.
• Skills: Proven ability to safely and effectively prepare juice or other specialty products for purchase and proficiently conduct sampling and demonstration events; physical capability to continuously lift a minimum of 50 lbs. several times per day and push wheeled machines weighing 50-600 lbs. to/from the sales floor; visual acuity to read instructions to ensure safety and food safety compliance; and effective communication skills, including the ability to listen, understand, read, write, and interact clearly with customers and team members.
• Bonus: Prior professional experience in product marketing, product demonstrations, or the food, beverage, or restaurant industry is considered a significant advantage.
