Receiving Associate | Sam’s Club

The Tone:
This is an hourly role at Sam’s Club, located in St. Petersburg, FL. As a leading membership-based warehouse club, Sam’s Club provides a wide array of products to its members. This Receiving Associate role is fundamental to the entire operation, ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of all inbound and outbound merchandise. Your work directly contributes to maintaining product availability, organized inventory, and a safe shopping and working environment, which are all vital for member satisfaction and business success.

The TL;DR
• Role: Hourly
• Location: In-person, St. Petersburg, FL
• Pay: $17–$25 hourly
• Mission: Own the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound merchandise for the Club.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Shipments: Execute the full lifecycle of inbound and outbound shipments for the Club, encompassing the development and posting of delivery schedules, meticulous compilation and organization of receiving reports, precise verification of merchandise counts, efficient routing of merchandise to designated locations, and accurate processing of associated expenses.
• Receive and Organize Merchandise: Skillfully receive all incoming merchandise for the facility by strictly adhering to Company procedures, appropriately utilizing various equipment, ensuring proper merchandising within the receiving area, and completing all necessary documentation to maintain a highly organized and efficient space.
• Process Claims and Returns: Systematically track and process various claims by managing the return of damaged goods, handling liquidation merchandise efficiently, consistently maintaining and cleaning the clearance area, and leveraging technology to capture all required reporting and documentation.
• Ensure Workplace Safety: Actively maintain the safety of the entire facility by strictly following all safety standards, conducting regular safety sweeps, implementing proper forklift spotting procedures, adhering to guidelines for handling and disposing of hazardous materials, and promptly correcting or reporting any unsafe situations to facility management.
• Uphold Company Standards: Demonstrate unwavering compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity through the implementation of related action plans, proactive use of the Open Door Policy, and consistent application of these principles in all business processes and daily practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older. Requires a Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of the job entry date.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to follow detailed company procedures, manage daily work assignments, and effectively utilize resources and equipment in a receiving or logistics environment.
• Skills: Proficient in forklift operation, merchandise verification, precise documentation and reporting, and strict adherence to safety standards and guidelines.
