Job Description

Position: Tire & Battery Center Technician

Position Summary: As a Tire & Battery Center Technician, you will provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, aiming to deliver more of what our members love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the club meets the member’s expectations.

What you’ll do:

  • Be a Team Member:

    • Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests.
    • Educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
    • Mentor new technicians.
    • Communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing safe and efficient customer service.
  • Be an Expert:

    • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols.
    • Understand tire and battery industry guidelines and service standards.
    • Operate equipment effectively.
    • Possess knowledge of TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems), product specifications, and seasonality.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) systems, phone, and in-person selling techniques.
  • Be a Techie:

    • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement.
    • Utilize handheld technology and systems for immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application, and training.
    • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner:

    • Communicate equipment, tools, and supplies needs to the TBC Lead.
    • Track and monitor returns and special orders.
    • Operate cash registers and process transactions.
    • Work hands-on in the physical area, maintaining accurate inventory.
    • Audit safety and compliance standards.
    • Report TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, or work areas.
    • Complete paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.
    • Ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador:

    • Act as a brand advocate by valuing the member’s experience in the TBC area and modeling high-quality service and products.
    • Develop, influence, and inspire others to work in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style.
    • Understand roadblocks and assist in training team members.

Salary Range:

The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $28.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid State-issued Driver’s License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
