Junior Design Support Intern | The Gathering Spot

This role offers an emerging designer a practical opportunity to contribute to the company’s brand identity and member experience through diverse design projects, making a daily impact on the community.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Atlanta, GA (In-person)
• Team: Reports to the Social Media Coordinator
• Mission: To support brand consistency and content creation across digital, environmental, and marketing materials, enhancing the member experience and community engagement.
• Tech Stack: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Figma

What You’ll Actually Do
• Social Content: Design graphics, animations, and video content for social media campaigns across various platforms.
• Environmental Graphics: Create in-club signage, directional graphics, and promotional displays to enhance the member experience.
• Marketing Materials: Produce promotional graphics for member events, programming, and announcements, including print collateral.
• Asset Management: Edit and retouch photos and videos from community events, maintaining organized asset libraries and design files.
• Collaborative Design: Support the Social Media Coordinator in executing content calendars and participating in brainstorming sessions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field; Early Career level.
• Experience: A strong portfolio showcasing design skills across both digital and print mediums; basic video editing skills; familiarity with various social media platforms and content formats.
• Skills: Working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; ability to receive and effectively implement feedback.
• Bonus: Previous internship or freelance design experience; basic motion graphics or animation skills; photography or videography experience; knowledge of Figma; a personal social media or creative portfolio demonstrating interests and perspective; an awareness of cultural trends and the ability to translate them into relevant content.
