This is a part-time internship at Menards, providing an immersive, in-person experience within a retail store setting. • Team: Interns will be supported by and work directly alongside the General Management team, Department Managers, and other Store Team Members within the retail environment.
• Mission: To equip individuals with the practical knowledge and essential skills required to understand the Menards business model and prepare them for a management position in the retail sector in the near future.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Engagement: Actively participate in a structured, 12-week paid management internship program, engaging in hands-on training to prepare for a career in retail management.
• Business Operations Immersion: Collaborate with experienced General Management and Department Managers to gain a deep, practical understanding of daily retail operations, business strategies, and customer service standards.
• Skill Enhancement: Dedicate efforts to developing and strengthening key professional competencies, including organizational effectiveness, clear communication strategies, and efficient time management techniques.
• Management Transition Preparation: Work directly with store leadership and team members to acquire the foundational experience and insights necessary to transition successfully into a full management role.
• Team Collaboration: Engage with various Store Team Members across different departments to learn about their functions and understand the interconnectedness of a successful retail operation.
