Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Low Band Surveillance (LBS) Project Intern to join our team in Huntsville, AL for the Summer 2026. The LBS program is a sophisticated and complex radar system, demanding a diverse engineering and manufacturing skillset for successful execution. As an LBS Project Intern, you will work directly with LBS Project Managers to ensure mission commitments to the customer are met and financial commitments to the LBS Portfolio Manager are achieved for both the LBS U and LBS V programs.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical program performance through various tasks, including PowerPoint creation, deliverable writing, note-taking, development of program documentation, reviewing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for accuracy, coordinating taskers across the LBS Team, and generally supporting the delivery of excellent program performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop essential program documentation, such as Program Management, Supplier Management, and Risk Management Plans.
- Design and create compelling PowerPoint slides for a variety of internal and external meetings.
- Review the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to identify and address discrepancies in logic, working closely with technical teams.
- Actively participate in identifying new risks to the program.
- Assist in managing the program’s cost baseline under the guidance of a Project Manager.
- Support Project Managers in leading project teams throughout the product delivery lifecycle, encompassing both hardware and software development, to help the client achieve critical missions.
- Aid Project Managers in defining strategies and success metrics for all aspects of contract management, financial performance, and budget control.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be an actively enrolled college student, exiting either their junior or senior year of college.
- Possess 1+ years of experience managing programs or teams, with a preference for individuals who have worked with a hardware production team.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer interaction and presentation skills.
- Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area at their own expense.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be shown to candidates who possess experience and/or working knowledge in the following areas:
- Risk identification, analysis, and management techniques.
- Subcontract management, including the creation of Statements of Work (SOW), and managing technical, schedule, and budget aspects for both large and small subcontractors.
- Proposal management, including identifying key partners, developing statements of work for subcontracts, and planning and writing proposal responses.

Pay Range
The anticipated pay range for this position is $41,600.00 – $75,200.00 annually. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
