The Tone:
This is an Audit & Assurance Internship at CCK Strategies, PLLC, an accounting firm known for providing challenging work and fostering professional development within a collaborative environment. In Audit & Assurance, the firm partners with clients throughout every stage of their organization’s life cycle, providing essential quality assurance services. This includes financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, as well as internal audits, SOC examinations, and fraud examinations. The intern role is designed for motivated and highly organized individuals with an advisory mindset, who are eager to work with entrepreneurial clients across diverse industries, contributing to the firm’s mission of providing quality services and solutions.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person (local and occasional out-of-state travel required for client engagements)
• Pay: $25 hourly
• Team: Collaborative environment within the Audit & Assurance department, working with Staff and Seniors across firm departments to deliver client value.
• Mission: To contribute to the delivery of quality assurance services and provide solutions to entrepreneurial clients across a wide range of industries, supporting the firm’s value-driven approach.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workpaper Preparation: Assist Staff and Seniors in preparing engagement workpapers for various client services.
• Documentation Standards: Complete detailed workpaper documentation in accordance with both firm and industry standards.
• Risk Identification: Identify and communicate potential areas of risk within the engagement team by applying basic accounting principles.
• Engagement Management: Complete assigned sections of each engagement within the predetermined budgeted parameters.
• Professional Development & Compliance: Remain current with audit and accounting standards and adhere to all relevant information security policies and procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated mastery of basic accounting concepts, a keen inquisitiveness, and the ability to travel to client locations both locally and occasionally out of state as needed.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, effective time management in dynamic environments, adaptability to diverse projects, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving.
