Job Summary

The Accounting Intern will provide essential support to both the Accounting and Corporate Treasury teams, engaging in a diverse range of tasks and projects. Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Director of Finance, the intern will acquire invaluable hands-on experience in critical accounting areas. These include, but are not limited to, the preparation of journal entries, involvement in both internal and regulatory reporting processes, managing accounts payable functions, assisting with fixed assets, maintaining the general ledger, and performing account reconciliations. This role is designed to offer significant exposure to the fundamental accounting operations within a dynamic financial institution, providing a solid foundation for a career in finance.

Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently prepare and maintain accurate reports, comprehensive documents, and related financial materials.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • A keen ability to learn quickly and effectively navigate various computer programs and financial software; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a mandatory requirement.
  • Capable of efficiently managing multiple assignments concurrently and demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse personalities; must be tactful, mature, and adaptable in various professional settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for clear and concise reporting and interaction.

Salary & Benefits

The anticipated starting hourly wage for this internship position is $17.00 per hour. The actual wage offered will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and the specific business needs, and may vary as permitted by applicable state law.
