Eagle Ranch is seeking dedicated couples to join our team as Houseparents, playing a pivotal role in the healing and development of children and families within our Christ-centered community.

Who is the Right Fit for Houseparenting?

  • Married Couples: Candidates must be married for at least three years.
  • Heart for Service: A strong calling to serve the next generation and their families is essential.
  • Diverse Backgrounds Welcome: While many houseparents have prior experience working with youth (e.g., ministry, teaching), this is not a prerequisite. We also welcome those transitioning from other careers or entering retirement.
  • Christ-Centered Commitment: The unifying desire among our houseparents is to make a significant difference within a community grounded in Christian values.

Experience and Training

  • No Prior Experience Necessary: We do not require previous experience in houseparenting or residential child care.
  • Comprehensive Training Provided: Full training is offered to all new houseparents.
  • Robust Support System: Houseparents are continuously supported by a dedicated team.

Houseparent Responsibilities

Houseparents are integral to our holistic family healing approach, providing comprehensive care for children in our residential program across multiple dimensions:

  • Physical Care: Ensuring the physical well-being of the children.
  • Mental Support: Fostering a healthy mental environment.
  • Academic Assistance: Helping with schoolwork and educational development.
  • Social Development: Guiding children in building positive social skills.
  • Emotional Nurturing: Providing emotional support and stability.
  • Spiritual Guidance: Contributing to their spiritual growth within a Christ-centered framework.

While day-to-day tasks vary, core responsibilities consistently include:

  • Meal Preparation: Planning and preparing nutritious meals.
  • Chore Oversight: Guiding children in daily household responsibilities.
  • Schoolwork Assistance: Supporting children with homework and academic tasks.
  • Implementing the Choice-Consequence Model: Applying a structured behavioral model to teach responsibility and accountability.
  • Socio-Emotional Skill Building: Actively working with children to develop essential social and emotional competencies.
