Job Summary

Position: IT Intern

Program: 2026 Summer Internship Program

Duration: 8 weeks (June & July)

Location: Fitchburg, MA (Candidates must be local and willing to commute to the office 5x/week, with the exception of every other Friday being off).

As an IT Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems and equipment. You will collaborate closely with the IT team to assist users, resolve basic technical issues, and gain valuable hands-on experience in day-to-day tech support operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic computer, hardware, and software issues for end-users.
  • System Setup & Maintenance: Contribute to the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • End-User Assistance: Provide direct support to employees, including answering their questions and guiding them on system usage and best practices.
  • Inventory & Tracking: Support the IT team in accurately tracking equipment, managing repair logs, and documenting installations.
  • Learning & Development: Actively engage in on-the-job learning opportunities to gain practical experience and stay current with emerging IT trends and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology (IT) or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • A foundational understanding of current principles and practices within IT support, and the ability to collaborate with users and other IT professionals to identify, analyze, and resolve system problems.
  • Familiarity with Help Desk functionality and standard IT maintenance procedures.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully interact with other IT professionals and end-users with professionalism and helpfulness.
