The Dartmouth Hitchcock Undergraduate Summer Internship Programs offer an immersive experience for undergraduate students seeking hands-on exposure and practical experience in various healthcare settings. Interns will gain insights into clinical, business, or operational aspects of healthcare. The program includes a comprehensive professional development curriculum, fostering learning within a cohort and direct experience with diverse healthcare environments and knowledge.

Specific Pathways/Tracks:
Applicants particularly interested in Business and Marketing opportunities should select the “Healthcare Support Internship” pathway and the “Healthcare Administration & Project Management” track when completing Application Part One.

  • Compensation: This is a paid program.
  • Commitment: Requires a full-time, 10-week commitment.
  • Focus: Designed for undergraduate students excited to apply academic study and gain full-time work experience while exploring careers in healthcare administration.
  • Department Placement: Specific internship department decisions are made based on a combination of the applicant’s area of interest, required skills, and available department host opportunities each year. Applicants are encouraged to be open to learning new things and gaining experiences in diverse disciplines and environments they may not have previously considered.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years old by the first day of the internship (June 1, 2025).
  • Must have completed one full year of undergraduate study by the program start date.
  • Availability to commit to the full 10-week program.
  • Applicants are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Successful completion of the Dartmouth Health pre-employment screening process, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
