Ticket/Gate Agent | Delta Air Lines

The Tone:
This is an entry-level, in-person position at Delta Air Lines, located in New Orleans, LA (MSY). Delta Air Lines is a company where connection is at the heart of every action, striving to welcome and care for all customers during their travels and deliver an elevated experience. This role is crucial as you will be the first point of contact for customers, guiding them and assisting with essential travel processes. You will play a vital part in the mission to ensure operations run smoothly and safely.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Make the air travel experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for customers by helping with routing, trip planning, and gate boarding.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Check-in: Own the check-in and boarding processes, including making gate announcements and ensuring customers have accurate travel documentation.
• Baggage Handling: Tag and lift baggage, some weighing up to 70 pounds, from scales to conveyor belts.
• Aircraft Operations: Operate loading bridges and manage the opening, closing, and securing of aircraft doors.
• Passenger Escort: Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.
• Travel Assistance: Guide customers to their destinations and assist them with ticketing and baggage check-in on the computer.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level career, possessing a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience: Not specified. Proficiency in English and strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation.
• Skills: Consistently prioritizing safety and security of self, others, and personal data, embracing diverse people, thinking, and styles, possessing basic digital literacy, passing a physical ability test (PAT), passing a Customer Service Assessment, and ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
