Job Title: Data Science Intern
Reporting Structure
This is an individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Director, Core Data Science. You will be joining the Data Science team to support core DocuSign products.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Science Intern, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing DocuSign’s core products by:
• Building ML Models: Partnering with product managers, engineers, designers, leadership, and marketing to develop and deploy machine learning models.
• Delivering Data-Driven Insights: Generating actionable insights to inform product strategy and business decisions.
• Developing Testing Methodologies: Creating potential new methodologies for experimentation and building platforms/tools to scale these efforts.
• Optimizing Customer Journeys: Contributing to the development of Data Science models aimed at optimizing customer experiences.
• Building Data Pipelines: Designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various internal systems.
• Executing Keystone Projects: Identifying, planning, executing, and automating a significant project to address specific team needs or problems.
Work Model: Hybrid
This position is designated as Hybrid, requiring employees to divide their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is mandatory, with a minimum in-office expectation of 2 days per week (frequency may vary by team but will be weekly). DocuSign reserves the right to change job designations based on business needs and local law.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Basic Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in a related field and enrolled for at least one quarter or semester post-internship.
• Demonstrated experience in Python and SQL (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server).
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to tackle complex challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous learning and growth.
• Ability to both receive and provide constructive feedback.
• Proven analytical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated interest in Data Science, Analytics, and Machine Learning.
• Pursuing a PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering with a specialization in machine learning or AI.
• Experience with or knowledge of machine learning concepts (e.g., linear/logistic regression) and statistical analysis.
• Experience with or knowledge of the software development lifecycle/agile methodology.
• Experience with or knowledge of tools like Github, JIRA/Confluence.
Wage Transparency
The pay for this position ranges from $34/hour – $43/hour in California, based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
