Overview

Dive into the fast-paced world of professional sports marketing as a Creative Services Intern! This pivotal role within the Creative Services Department offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the Columbus Blue Jackets’ brand awareness and sales initiatives through impactful graphic design. This is an exclusive graphic design position, strictly focusing on static visual communication, and does NOT involve video or photography production. We are specifically seeking talented individuals who are Columbus-based and passionate about design.

Duties and Tasks

• Collaborate closely with the dynamic Creative Services Team, playing an integral role in responding to and fulfilling a diverse range of creative requests from various departments across the organization.
• Gain hands-on experience by assisting in the design and production of a comprehensive suite of marketing collateral. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging e-mail marketing campaigns, dynamic web banners, compelling TV graphics, captivating digital and social media content, impactful newspaper advertisements, polished publications, intricate sponsorship elements, large-format signage, appealing promotional and premium items, and effective direct mail pieces.
• Master the art of brand consistency by skillfully adapting existing design elements to ensure seamless continuity and strict adherence to the established Blue Jackets branding guidelines across all collateral and platforms.
• Develop a keen eye for detail by actively participating in the review of final layouts, offering constructive suggestions for improvement, and confidently presenting polished designs to supervisors or internal clients for final approval.
• Uphold the highest standards of visual excellence by meticulously reviewing the quality of the final product before its official release, ensuring all designs are flawless and impactful.
• Contribute to operational efficiency by assisting in the meticulous maintenance of image resource files and tracking design assets, ensuring easy accessibility and organization.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following essential requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a college or art school program with a dedicated concentration in graphic design. (Emphasis again: This is strictly a graphic design role, not video or photography.)
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. This is absolutely essential.
• Possess a strong detail-oriented mindset, coupled with outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to thrive and collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
• Strictly seeking Columbus-based candidates for this in-person opportunity.
