Internship Overview:
This internship program is designed to provide meaningful, professional hands-on experience to students demonstrating leadership potential and proven academic performance. Werfen hires students pursuing business or finance-related degrees into this program based on business needs. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.
Position: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Short-Term Project Development: The Intern will be assigned a hands-on project that touches multiple departments, offering a condensed experience of FP&A. The Intern will develop and present this project alongside the hiring manager to business partners.
- Possible Project Examples: Financial forecast improvements, financial package design overhaul, product line reporting, and Sales KPI tracking improvements.
- Day-to-Day Involvement: Participate in daily team activities, including:
- Financial forecasting
- Excel modeling
- Participation in the monthly financial package
- Ad-hoc financial analysis
- Communication with directors & VPs regarding their financial metrics
Key Attributes & Skills Required:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
- Enthusiasm, motivation, initiative, and the ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.
- Ability to analyze financial statements, sales reports, & service logs.
- Assist in creating & designing reports for business partners.
- Strong analysis skills for large data sets using Excel to develop business insights.
- Assist in forecasting, modeling, & financial analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Must have completed a minimum of 2 college semesters.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA desired.
- Ability to multitask.
Compensation:
- The hourly range for this role is $22/hr to $30/hr.
- Individual compensation will depend on factors including relevant experience and grade level completed.
