Job Summary & Internship Program Overview:
UPS is seeking a passionate and driven intern to join our Global Health & Safety Department. This internship is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA in Occupational Health & Safety or Safety Management. The program aims to prepare the next generation of H&S professionals for success through skill development, networking opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to various H&S business segments.

Interns will take ownership of meaningful, high-impact assignments, culminating in a capstone project presented to the Health & Safety Leadership Team at the end of the internship. The program emphasizes further developing H&S leaders through training, mentorship, and working in diverse H&S roles. Top talent will be identified for potential future opportunities, including full-time roles.

We are looking for candidates who are complex problem solvers, capable of aligning ideas with long-term business goals, and who demonstrate excellent communication, time-management, and leadership skills. Location:
This internship will be located at UPS Global Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Candidates will be expected to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Creates a solution and path forward for a real business need.
  • Conducts meaningful research using data to support the capstone project and produces deliverables.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of company H&S practices.
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders as they relate to capstone project responsibilities.
  • Ensures alignment to company, business-unit, and stakeholder long-term strategies and goals.
  • Engages in training and development opportunities.
  • Participates in intern events to expand knowledge of UPS and engage with senior leaders.
  • Meets with mentors for assistance navigating UPS and identifying career development opportunities.
  • Encourages diversity of thought, experience, and ideas.
  • Presents the final capstone project to UPS leadership at the end of the internship program.

  • Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Ability to analyze data and experience with data visualization (preferred, or willingness to learn).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a preferred course of study in Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Management.
  • Anticipated graduation date of December 2026.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
  • Ability to be in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate.
  • Ability to adapt to both office and operations settings.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NEBOSH
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
