Associate, Growth – International | Rooted in Talent

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Rooted in Talent’s client, MARA, supporting their global digital infrastructure expansion. MARA is focused on Bitcoin mining and broader digital infrastructure opportunities worldwide. This high-impact, deal-oriented position is pivotal in identifying, structuring, underwriting, and executing international expansion opportunities, serving as a primary driver of MARA’s international growth strategy.

• Team: International Growth team, reporting to the Vice President of Growth – International.
• Mission: Identify, structure, underwrite, and execute international expansion opportunities for MARA’s digital infrastructure footprint.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Underwrite Deals: Own and lead the end-to-end underwriting process for international digital infrastructure transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, and execution through close.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain complex, multi-scenario financial models to evaluate risk-adjusted returns on prospective international investments across varying capital structures and market conditions.
• Market Strategy: Conduct comprehensive research and strategic analysis of international markets to identify optimal geographies for MARA’s digital infrastructure expansion, assessing regulatory frameworks and energy availability.
• Lead Deal Teams: Lead cross-functional deal teams spanning finance, legal, operations, engineering, and development to ensure disciplined execution and strategic alignment across all phases of a transaction.
• Executive Communication: Prepare high-quality investment memoranda, strategic analyses, and presentation materials for internal executive leadership, boards, and external partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 – 6 years in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, project finance, or a comparable transaction-oriented role with demonstrated deal execution experience.
• Skills: Advanced financial modeling capabilities (project finance, LBO, DCF, scenario analysis), strong quantitative skills for evaluating investment returns and risk profiles, strategic and market analysis, and exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to data center investments, international markets, cross-border transactions, or emerging market infrastructure; proven experience coordinating cross-functional teams; intellectual curiosity in evaluating new international markets; and demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority in a complex environment.
