We are actively seeking an Accounting Intern to join our dedicated Accounting Team for our immersive 10-week summer internship program. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world accounting functions.

Role Details:

Job Title: Accounting Intern
Role Type: Intern
Reporting To: Accounts Payable Manager
Key Teams Supported: Accounts Payable, Credit Team, and Financial Accounting Team
Program Length: 10 weeks (June 1st – August 7th)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET
Pay: $20.00 per hour

Location and Travel:

Location: This is a Remote Position.
Eligible States: We are open to individuals who live in, or are willing to relocate to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
Required Travel: This opportunity requires mandatory travel to our headquarters in Melville, NY for an on-site internship meeting on July 14th and 15th.
Travel Reimbursement: We reimburse reasonable and necessary travel expenses for this visit.
Optional On-site Work: You are also welcome to work on-site at our headquarters anytime beyond this mandatory visit – our doors are always open.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting functions, including:

Price Verification: Accurately price check and review all invoices to ensure proper approval prior to payment processing.
Discrepancy Resolution: Collaborate effectively with internal parties and external vendors to investigate and resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders (POs), and item receipts.
Credit Management: Manage Return Goods Authorization (RGA) credit reporting and proactively follow up with vendors regarding credits related to product returns, inventory rebalances, and warranties.
Inventory Support: Provide essential support for inventory-related workflows to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Credit Application Processing: Efficiently process credit applications and maintain precise credit management reporting.

Requirements:

Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Organizational Skills: Possess exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.

Communication: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, essential for effective collaboration.
