About the DoD SkillBridge Program at i3:
i3 is proud to support transitioning military personnel through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program. This initiative offers active-duty service members valuable civilian work experience through individual internships during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits and are not eligible for additional compensation from i3 during the internship period. i3 considers any active-duty member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program, with immediate consideration for the Program Manager role.

Program Manager Responsibilities:

• Formulate and enforce work standards.
• Assign contractor schedules.
• Review work discrepancies.
• Supervise contractor personnel.
• Communicate policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.
• Manage the development and preparation of proposals for programs and serve as the primary contact for responses.
• Determine necessary schedules for proposal submittal, preparation, and pricing, and review proposals for responsiveness to program requirements.
• Establish budgets, forecasts, manpower, equipment, and supply needs for the assigned area of responsibility.
• Design, conduct, and/or facilitate the preparation of efficient and effective program metrics, other reports, and briefings as required.

DoD SkillBridge Requirements:

• Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember.
• Must be separating from the Military within 180 days.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to learn from others on the job.
• Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the internship.

Position Requirements (Program Manager):

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or another relevant field with 20 years of experience; OR
  • Master’s degree with 18 years of experience; OR
  • Doctorate with 16 years of experience.
• Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret Level Clearance with SCI Access preferred. Clearance, Access, and Investigation must appear in DISS and be within scope (5 years).
• Current experience in managing government contracts and interacting with Contracting Officers, CORs, and Technical Monitors highly preferred.
• Experience with managing agile project plans and familiarity with tools such as MS Project, MS Azure, and Jira highly preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and prepare program proposals.
• Proficiency in establishing budgets, forecasts, and resource needs.
• Experience in designing and conducting program metrics, reports, and briefings.
• DoD planner with greater than 5 years of experience in cross-functional team leadership at the operational and/or strategic level.
• DoD trainer with greater than 5 years of experience ranging from the tactical unit to service level.
