About the Role

Location: This internship will be based at our corporate headquarters in Thornton, CO.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

As a Marketing & Communications Intern, you will actively contribute to our teams and gain valuable insights into the electrical construction industry by:

  • Collaborating with marketing, communications, business development, and operations teams to support various marketing initiatives.
  • Assisting with proposal development, photo editing, database entries, and populating marketing archives.
  • Creating and updating marketing collateral such as brochures, resumes, and presentations, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines (using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Designing custom graphics and capturing photo/video for promotional materials.
  • Writing engaging content for social media, website, proposals, and newsletters.
  • Providing support for customer events.
  • Participating in the dedicated Lunch & Learn internship program led by the MYR Group Internship Leadership team.
  • Developing and presenting a self-reflection project (PowerPoint presentation) to direct management, detailing gained industry knowledge, future career goals, and personal/professional growth prior to the internship’s conclusion.

About You – Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or above in a Marketing or Communications undergraduate program.
  • Recent graduates are eligible if graduation occurred within the past year.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and give presentations effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.

What We Offer

Compensation:

  • Salary: $18.00 – $22.00 / hour
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges based on candidate qualifications.
