Job Description

This posting describes an 11-week paid learning experience as an Internship within T-Mobile’s Finance department, specifically focusing on Credit Risk Management.

Key aspects of the internship include:

Program Structure: It’s an 11-week paid program designed to provide hands-on experience and training. Interns will have opportunities to connect and network with other interns and company leaders, receive mentorship, and work on meaningful projects.
Work Location: Overland Park, KS.
Target Audience: The internship is open to Undergraduate or Graduate students, specifically those classified as Juniors or first-year grad students (Class of 2027).
Department Focus: The Finance team at T-Mobile offers a fast-paced, team-focused environment. This particular role in Credit Risk Management will involve working on high-impact, analytical projects that contribute to strategic decision-making and enterprise risk goals.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

• Conduct complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of Consumer credit data.
• Generate business cases, develop new strategies, and perform what-if analyses on existing strategies.
• Explore opportunities to optimize existing, data-driven methodologies for strategy development.
• Analyze Consumer credit bureau and alternative Consumer credit data to derive specific data-driven responses and insights.
Extract, load, and transform credit risk data from various sources and complex formats.

Qualifications:

Education:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related degree.
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year.
Technical Skills:
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite Skills.
Basic proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other statistical software packages.
Coursework in data science and machine learning methodologies.
Soft & Analytical Skills:
Outstanding data analysis, organizational, and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, work ethic, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
Conceptual Understanding:
Conceptual understanding of credit and lending.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships.
Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position, including for F-1 status students seeking post-education sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits:

Paid internship with wages ranging from $20/hour to $40/hour, based on experience and location.
Relocation may be provided to participants residing more than 50 miles from the internship location.
