Job description
This posting is for a Warehouse Chemical Technician / Receiving Chemist I Internship at Clean Harbors’ Cincinnati, OH facility. Lensa is promoting this job on behalf of Clean Harbors; Lensa is a career site and does not hire directly for these positions.
Role Summary: The intern will primarily work in the facility warehouse, focusing on tasks related to receiving and sampling waste drums.
Details of the Internship:
• Shift: 1st or 2nd shift available.
• Pay: $18 per hour.
• Duration: May – September.
• Location: Cincinnati, OH facility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strictly adhering to all Health and Safety practices, policies, and processes, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
• Receiving all containers, accurately verifying counts and sizes of received loads, and correctly coding all waste for disposal processing.
• Sampling all incoming drums and conducting basic analysis of these samples following prescribed procedures.
• Sorting through batteries and consolidating all alkaline batteries for proper disposal.
• Confirming that all drums are accurately coded for routing and billing according to established protocols.
• Ensuring each drum is assigned the proper disposal process and/or outbound profile.
• Moving drums from the staging area to the correct facility storage areas.
• Completing all associated paperwork and ensuring that all work meets applicable Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) guidelines.
• Maintaining a safe working environment that complies with all applicable OSHA regulations and all company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols.
What it takes to work at Clean Harbors (Requirements):
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Age: Must be 18 years or older.
• Experience: 1+ Years of related experience.
• Skills: Ability to use a computer.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
• Preferred (but Not Required): Forklift experience.
