Phlebotomist / Administrative Assistant (Wednesday – Sunday) | One Medical
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at One Medical, located in Sunnyvale Cherry Orchard, CA, with shifts from Wednesday to Sunday. One Medical is a primary care solution challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable through seamless in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, including on-site labs and preventive care programs. This role is crucial for providing an exceptional patient experience by delivering essential phlebotomy and comprehensive administrative support, acting as the first point of contact, and ensuring a fluid and positive care journey. What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Experience Management: Use C-I-CARE in all patient interactions, manage intake, scheduling, billing inquiries, and monitor feedback to ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience.
• Direct Clinical Care: Provide best-in-class venipuncture services and perform extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, and PPD tests.
• Lab and Administrative Support: Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, and execute front-of-house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and paperwork tasks.
• Post-Visit Member Support: Care for members beyond the lab by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties like biometric screening forms and medical record review.
• Office Operations and Team Contribution: Perform opening and closing duties, maintain the look and feel of both patient and employee facing spaces, restock supplies, and actively contribute to team development through huddles, problem-solving, and supporting in-office providers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Active phlebotomy certification to practice in CA, coupled with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment; proficiency in computer technology, including typing and using multiple software systems simultaneously; experience working on collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams, with remote team experience being a plus.
• Skills: Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, proven ability to instill trust during specimen collection, innovative problem-solving, and adaptability to new situations and tasks.
