Job Description

Aprio is offering Spring 2027 (January – April) and Summer 2027 (June – August) Internships for high-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax. This specific application is for opportunities in Aprio’s San Francisco, CA, Walnut Creek, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Reno, NV offices. These internship programs are designed to provide students with on-the-job training and real-world experiences. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, ranging from small to medium and large-sized businesses, fostering one-on-one contact with clients and partners to develop a solid general foundation in accounting.

Aprio emphasizes a holistic approach to intern development, incorporating more than just accounting tasks. Each intern class participates in a group project focused on volunteering and social impact. The firm also organizes networking events and activities to help interns connect with other employees and partners within the company.

Internships are available in both Tax and Audit departments.

Position Responsibilities

Tax Interns:
• Responsible for delivering tax services to multiple clients across various industries.
• Involve close interaction with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
• Work closely with partners to deliver innovative tax planning strategies.
• Focus on working with middle to large-sized tax clients in diverse and energetic teams.
Audit Interns:
• Work with businesses and industry leaders to mitigate financial and business risks.
• Focus on improving financial reporting capabilities and internal controls.
• Evaluate accounting issues and stay current with new accounting regulations.
• Help companies assess the quality of information for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operating efficiencies.
• Provide opportunities to work with middle to large-sized audit clients within diverse and energetic teams.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Accounting Major
3.0 or higher GPA
Understanding and applying Excel skills
• Demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and personably with clients and co-workers

Compensation

The pay for these internships ranges from $24 – $33 an hour. The exact salary varies by internship type and office location.
