This is a paid internship program offered by FIRST, targeting undergraduate students (eligible for college credit) or graduate students seeking experience in the events and experiences industry.
Location: Jersey City, NJ. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days in office and 20 hours per week. Applicants must reside in the tri-state area to commute to work.
Targeted Start Date: September 29, 2025.
Role Summary:
The intern will gain valuable experience in a corporate environment, working with a dynamic group of event professionals. The primary responsibility is to represent the FIRST brand as an in-person implant in a Solutions account, providing administrative assistance to a team of Event Technology Managers on a day-to-day basis.
Key Contributions and Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to a team of Event Technology Managers.
• Support with database management, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and generating lists.
• List manipulation to provide relevant registration data, year-on-year statistics, and event analytics.
• Assist with information/data cross-checks for event materials and collateral.
• Monitor email inboxes and respond to inquiries.
• Uploading photos/bios to event apps.
• Assist with the upkeep and updating of the internal training hub.
• Update and distribute internal documents.
• Maintain organization and up-to-dateness of electronic event files and reports.
• Coordination of event collateral such as name badges, tent cards, place cards, departure notices, email confirmations, agenda, and signage as appropriate.
• Participate in and provide on-site registration support at events when needed.
• Flag inefficiencies and propose solutions.
• Strict and accurate adherence to the company’s time tracking policies and systems.
• Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• Maintain the company’s standard operating procedures.
• Act as an ambassador for the FIRST brand, embodying its core values of Ambition, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Experience in an administrative function is a plus, but not required.
• Prior event technology experience is a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritization, and meeting strict deadlines.
• A team player with the ability to take direction and execute tasks independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ambitious and proactive work style.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Compensation:
• Undergraduate students: $20/hourly.
• Graduate students: $25/hourly.
