Job Description: Quantitative Research Intern

Overview
As a Quantitative Research Intern at Susquehanna, you will be actively involved in projects designed to mirror the work of full-time employees, gaining practical, real-world experience. Modelling: Apply advanced quantitative methods, including probability theory, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques, to predict market behavior and generate new alpha strategies.
Execution: Develop and implement strategies to execute on modelling ideas within a simulated competitive trading environment.
Evaluation: Conduct thorough backtesting of ideas using historical market data and continuously revise strategies based on analytical findings.
Breadth: Gain comprehensive exposure to all facets of quantitative work and explore various departments and business areas within Susquehanna.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

Educational Background: Candidates must be PhDs (in their penultimate or final year) from highly quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
Problem-Solving Acumen: Analytical problem-solvers possessing excellent logical reasoning skills and a genuine passion for transforming data into actionable decisions.
Communication Skills: Clear communicators who can effectively collaborate in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
Programming Proficiency: Comfortable processing and analyzing large data sets in Python. Experience with C++ (or another low-level language) is a distinct advantage.
Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated interest in strategic games and/or competitive activities, indicative of strong strategic thinking abilities.
Work Ethic: Self-motivated and quick to learn, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Weekly Base Salary: Interns will receive a $6000 weekly base salary for the ten-week program.
Signing Bonus: An additional signing bonus will be provided.
Housing: Included.

Location
Opportunities for the Quantitative Research Intern will be available in Susquehanna’s Philadelphia and New York offices.
