About the Job

This job description is for Spring 2027 (January – April) and Summer 2027 (June – August) Internships in Audit and Tax at Aprio, specifically for its New York and New Jersey office locations. Aprio is seeking high-potential accounting students who are eager to dive into hands-on accounting projects and maintain the firm’s standard of excellence.

The internship program is designed to provide students with comprehensive on-the-job training and real-world experiences. Interns will have the unique opportunity to work with a diverse client base, ranging from small to medium and large-sized clients, gaining one-on-one contact with clients and partners. This exposure helps interns develop a solid general foundation in their chosen field. Beyond core accounting tasks, Aprio emphasizes a holistic development approach; each intern class participates in a group project focused on volunteering and social impact. The firm also facilitates networking events and activities for interns to connect with other employees and partners.

Opportunities are available in both Tax and Audit departments.

Position Responsibilities

• Tax Interns:
• Responsible for the delivery of tax services to multiple clients across various industries.
• Involves interacting closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
• Works closely with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies.

• Audit Interns:
• Works with businesses and industry leaders to mitigate financial and business risks.

Qualifications

Candidates for these internships must meet the following criteria:
• Accounting Major
• 3.0 or higher GPA
• Demonstrated understanding and application of Excel skills
• Possession of exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and personably with clients and co-workers

Compensation
The salary for these internships ranges from $24 – $33 an hour, with the final rate varying by internship type and specific office location.
