Job Description

This internship program at Kokosing is designed to provide interns with practical, hands-on construction experience, supplementing their education while earning a paycheck. The program aims to expand interns’ knowledge of the construction industry through direct project involvement.

Opportunities are available in the following specializations/divisions:

• Carpentry: Interns will work in the form shop, assisting in the creation of concrete forms and other items essential for construction projects.
• Welding: Responsibilities include repairing heavy equipment and fabricating various pieces used in heavy highway, bridge, and structural construction.
• Auto/Equipment Mechanics: This role involves maintaining and repairing company vehicles and other specialized construction equipment.
• Mid sized equipment/Electrical: Interns will be involved in repainting smaller construction equipment, such as generators and pumps.
• Supply Department: This specialization focuses on providing tools, supplies, and other necessary resources to field operations.
• Yard: Interns will be responsible for pulling, organizing, and filling orders of materials to be shipped to various projects.

As an intern at Kokosing, you are not considered a “trainee.” Instead, you will work alongside full-time employees who will provide guidance and training on various tasks. Interns are actively involved in projects and will be assigned specific project responsibilities. Daily activities are structured to allow interns to experience applicable processes and management methods firsthand. Supervisors and project staff will tailor work efforts to facilitate learning within the intern’s area of interest, while also ensuring direct contribution to the completion of quality projects.
