Job Description: XR Software Developer Internship (2025)
Sigmatech seeks a college-level student for an eight-week, paid internship ($20/hour) as an XR Software Developer, specializing in AR, VR, and MR applications. The internship runs from June 2nd, 2025, to August 29th, 2025, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. No relocation or housing assistance is provided; candidates are responsible for their own transportation, housing, and meals. The internship is based in Colorado Springs, CO.
The intern will work directly with a Senior XR Software Engineer and the Digital Learning Team, supporting the development and enhancement of XR experiences. This involves:
• Architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining features for AR/VR/MR applications.
• Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Collaborating with the Digital Learning team, project customers, and end-users.
• Developing innovative solutions for advanced visualization projects and prototypes.
• Potentially contributing to traditional computer-based training and educational games (in addition to XR projects).
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, and possess demonstrated experience with Unity and/or Unreal game engines. While the primary focus is XR development, the role may also involve desktop or phone-based game projects.
