Data & Analytics Platform Intern | Avant

This role matters because it directly contributes to improving business efficiency and decision-making by automating workflows and enhancing platform features, while also offering a deep dive into the FinTech industry.

• Mission: Improve efficiency and decision-making across the business by automating workflows, prototyping models, and enhancing platform features for common use cases.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Code Development: Work with platform engineers to write, test, and deploy code that drives critical business processes.
• Problem Solving: Partner with internal customers across the business to solve problems and prototype ideas using automation tools, traditional machine learning, and generative model workflows.
• Collaborative Participation: Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and team meetings within an agile development environment.
• Cultural Adherence: Adhere to a strong culture of ownership, pragmatism, and testing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, or a comprehensive field.
• Experience: Experience in some combination of traditional machine learning, agentic/generative workflows, application development, and data engineering.
• Skills:
• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
• Ability to rapidly learn new business concepts, tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of design and user experience principles.
• Knowledge of testing and observability practices.
