What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare primarily individual income tax returns (Form 1040).
• Advanced Assistance: Assist with more complex individual returns, personal property tax returns, and business or partnership returns as opportunities are available.
• Documentation: Prepare trial balances, workpapers, and depreciation schedules using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Compliance and Standards: Learn and follow the firm’s policies, procedures, and quality standards, and develop an understanding of AICPA rules, regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate questions and project updates to members of the tax team and participate in firm activities to build relationships with professionals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level position, pursuing or recently completed a degree in accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Current undergraduate, graduate, nontraditional student, or recent graduate with familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, a willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment.
• Bonus: Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
