Warper Operator – JPS Composite Materials
JPS Composite Materials, a leading manufacturer of high-performance fabrics for aerospace, military, commercial, and industrial markets, is seeking a Warper Operator. With over 60 years of experience, JPS is the primary supplier of these critical products in North America, contributing to applications such as aircraft interiors, radomes, ballistic protection, and electronic sensors.
Job Summary
The Warper Operator is responsible for safely producing section sets of warps according to specific style, width, and pattern requirements, utilizing a warper yardage chart. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, operational expertise, and adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Warp Production: Safely produce section sets of warps, referring to the warper yardage chart to determine required yardage and number of section beams based on style, width, and pattern.
- Creel Management: After creel is hung, perform tasks such as adding, cutting, blending in ends, and threading the eye board. Pull over and start new creels.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct tension checks and assess section beam hardness to ensure product quality. Select and adjust swing combs as needed, based on end count.
- Data Management & Reporting: Record warper data and production information daily, utilizing warper down time codes.
- Maintenance & Cleaning: Clean section beams and the warper, strictly adhering to the TPM cleaning and audit schedule.
- Operational Support: Doff the warper and assist with hanging new creels.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with production planning and creelers.
- Cross-functional Knowledge: Be knowledgeable of creeler duties to ensure seamless operations.
- Compliance: Maintain all records in accordance with ISO AS9100 standards.
- Other Duties: Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to work effectively in a tight, confined area without damaging yarn.
