RISE DVM / VMD Mentorship Program – River Oak Veterinary Hospital | PetVet Care Centers

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at River Oak Veterinary Hospital, located in Riverbank, CA, part of the nationwide PetVet Care Centers network. This role is crucial for supporting new veterinary graduates as they transition into clinical practice, providing hands-on learning, mentorship, and a supportive network to ensure long-term success in their veterinary journey.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Clinical Transition: Transition effectively from an academic setting to the real world of clinical practice with structured support.
• Patient Care: Provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to pets and their families utilizing modern facility equipment.
• Skill Development: Grow clinical skills through immersive, hands-on learning and real-time management of diverse cases.
• Caseload Management: Gradually assume independent responsibility for managing a caseload under the guidance of experienced dual mentors.
• Professional Growth: Participate in continuous professional development, leveraging CE allowances and building a supportive peer network.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Doctorate Degree (DVM / VMD) for new veterinary graduates. Entry-level career stage.
• Experience: Eagerness to practice high-quality medicine and commit to developing advanced clinical skills in a supportive environment.
• Skills: Clinical application of veterinary medicine, real-time case management, and a proactive approach to professional development.
• Bonus: Interest in working within General Practice (GP), Emergency (ER), or Mixed Animal Practices.
