Tax Specialist | Societe Generale

• Mission: Combine core tax compliance with strong technology and data skills to support accurate reporting, process automation, and modernization of the tax function.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings for banking and financial services entities, coordinating external review and anticipating audit issues.
• Tax Accounting: Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions prepared under IAS, coordinating with external auditors and supporting financial statement projections for deferred tax assets.
• Tax Analysis: Research and document tax issues for compliance, audit, and provision purposes, performing analysis on large datasets for reporting, forecasting, and audit support.
• Technology: Maintain and enhance tax data workflows, reconciliations, and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and standardization to improve reporting efficiency and transparency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Arts or Science degree. Career Level: Senior Specialist with core domain knowledge in US tax compliance and IAS tax accounting.
• Experience: 5-7 years of tax experience, preferably gained within an accounting firm or financial services company.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in technology and data tools for managing compliance and reporting, with an ability to participate in tax technology initiatives including automation, reporting tools, and system enhancements.
• Bonus: Bachelor of Science in Accounting or a Master’s degree in Tax.
