Utilities Right of Way Agent – Michigan | ORC

This is a full-time role at ORC, located remotely in Michigan. • Pay: $64374–$101702 yearly
• Team: Right of Way Professional department, supporting Project Managers and project team members
• Mission: Acquire right-of-way rights for distribution and electrical transmission line projects in accordance with project guidelines and regulations
• Tech Stack: MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, iOS or Android smartphone
What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire: Acquire right-of-way rights for distribution and electrical transmission line projects according to project guidelines and regulations.
• Support: Support the Project Manager and other project team members throughout project lifecycles.
• Prepare: Prepare real estate documents required for various property transactions.
• Research: Conduct property research to ascertain ownership and boundary information.
• Communicate: Communicate clearly and professionally with property owners and their representatives regarding right of way acquisition processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experience spanning Agent levels 1-3, with a minimum of 1 year (Agent 1), 3 years (Agent 2), or 5 years (Agent 3) of Right of Way acquisition experience.
• Experience: Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented abilities. Professional communication skills across written, phone, and face-to-face interactions, along with a strong service mindset for landowner and client interactions. Active Michigan Notary or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
• Bonus: Eagerness to learn and grow within the right of way profession, and ability to quickly pick up new systems and software.
