Job Description

User Experience for Career App Demo Internship – PathSpark

IMPORTANT: This internship is exclusively for current high school students and undergraduate college freshmen and sophomores. Please do not apply if you do not meet this criteria.

PathSpark is seeking curious, motivated high school and early college students (freshman/sophomore) to participate in a short-term internship. In this role, you will test a new self-discovery and career app and provide honest feedback to help shape its future development. This new version builds upon the success and insights gathered from 41 teen interns last Fall across the U.S.

As one former student described it: “If I was talking to a friend, I’d say PathSpark is a guided self-discovery tool that helps you uncover your strengths and interests in a really clear and cool way.”

PathSpark’s app guides you through a step-by-step self-reflection process to help you explore your interests, find direction, and feel more confident about your future. It is designed as an interactive journey to encourage independent thinking and alleviate stress about future choices, distinguishing itself from generic quizzes or typical college prep tools.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

  • Go through the PathSpark app from start to finish at your own pace (~3-4 hours total).
  • Complete the entire experience within 2-3 weeks.
  • Engage in a step-by-step reflection experience to explore your interests, strengths, and career ideas.
  • Share comprehensive feedback upon completion.

Qualifications – Who We’re Looking For:

  • Currently a high school student (any grade) or an undergraduate college freshman/sophomore.
  • Reliable and committed – demonstrating follow-through once you start.
  • Open-minded, curious, and genuinely interested in learning more about yourself.
  • Excited to provide feedback and contribute to improving tools designed to support students like you.

What You Get – Why You Should Apply:

  • Valuable experience to discuss in college essays, job applications, or interviews.
  • Internship experience to enhance your resume and LinkedIn profile.
  • Opportunities for career conversations with the founder.
  • The unique chance to help shape a real startup that is building something impactful for students.

Other Information:

  • This is an unpaid internship, but you will receive free access to the app.
  • This is a part-time, short-term internship requiring approximately 3 hours of work, completed at your own pace.
