Total Arts Day Camp: Summer Internship 2026 | Rochester Art Center
The Tone:
This is an internship at Rochester Art Center, located in Rochester, Minnesota. Rochester Art Center hosts Total Arts Day Camp (TADC), one of the longest-running youth arts programs in the state, initiated in 1971. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the planning and implementation of art museum programming, gain understanding of arts education and community outreach, and get hands-on experience working with students in an art studio/classroom setting. This is an unpaid, one-month internship with options for June or July 2026.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facilitate art activities: Work closely with TADC instructors, guest artists, and museum staff to prepare for and facilitate art activities.
• Conduct gallery tours: Study and learn about works of art exhibited at Rochester Art Center, explore inquiry-based tour techniques, and give age-appropriate children’s tours as needed.
• Supervise participants: Supervise and encourage TADC participants during camp activities and serve as a role model for young volunteers.
• Complete program tasks: Complete various assigned museum education and program-related tasks.
• Submit reflection: Submit a one-page reflection on the internship experience at the end.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
• Experience: Not specified.
• Skills: Proficient in English, comfortable working with youth, enthusiastic about museums and community-based work, and flexible, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn new skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Google Workspace, public speaking or leadership of small groups, or photography, video recording, and editing.
