Undergraduate Student | MESA Charter High School

The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote position supporting MESA Links’ academic and program initiatives. MESA Links is a growing network of high-performing charter schools serving diverse communities across Brooklyn. Its flagship, MESA Charter High School, serves 500 students in grades 9–12 and has achieved a strong 94% cumulative graduation rate. The network is expanding to meet demand for rigorous, college-preparatory education through new campuses in South Brooklyn and East New York, and its Alumni Lab further supports 125 young adults. This role is crucial for enhancing educational content, supporting student engagement, and improving virtual learning experiences to strengthen college and career readiness across the network.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Curriculum Support: Assist with curriculum development and the preparation of learning materials and resources.
• Student Engagement: Support online student engagement through tutoring, mentoring, or small-group facilitation.
• Data Organization: Conduct basic research and organize data related to student outcomes or program effectiveness.
• Virtual Learning Enhancement: Collaborate with staff to improve virtual learning experiences.
• Special Projects: Contribute to special projects that strengthen college and career readiness and help ensure digital content and communications are clear and accessible.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate student, preferably in education, social sciences, STEM, or a related field.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required.
• Skills: Effective written and verbal communication for remote collaboration and student interaction, ability to work independently, time management, comfort with basic technology tools for remote work.
• Bonus: Prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or supporting students; demonstrated interest in education, youth development, or community engagement in diverse, urban school settings; collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices.
