Junior Tax Manager, US | Bending Spoons

The Tone:
This is a full-time, permanent role at Bending Spoons, located in Atlanta (GA), Miami (FL), New York (NY), or fully remote from eligible countries. Bending Spoons acquires and improves digital businesses for long-term ownership and operation, deeply integrating AI into its work. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing the company’s U.S. tax responsibilities, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and supporting key business decisions as the company expands.

• Mission: Owns the company’s U.S. tax responsibilities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance Oversight: Support U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, including corporate income, franchise, and sales and use taxes.
• Tax Calculations and Filings: Calculate tax liabilities, then prepare and file all necessary U.S. tax returns.
• Operational Tax Management: Manage tax matters related to equity plans, employees, and contractor arrangements.
• Employee Benefit Taxation: Ensure the proper U.S. tax treatment of employee benefits, compensation, and welfare programs.
• Acquisition Support: Support tax due diligence and integration work for company acquisitions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential is required to represent the company before the IRS.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required; the company prioritizes verifiable signals of excellence regardless of seniority.
• Skills:
