The Tone:
This is a Contract to Hire position at Actalent, based out of Memphis, TN, though the role requires 100% travel for project work. • Mission: Perform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials to ensure quality and compliance on high-profile projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Testing: Conduct field tests, observations, and inspections of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with project managers, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other parties regarding construction site activities and test results.
• Reporting: Compile, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Logistics: Transport material samples, along with associated documentation, to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Maintenance & Safety: Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment, while adhering to strict safety standards at all times.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent. Entry-level role focusing on construction materials.
• Experience: 6 months of experience required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively, attention to detail for accurately documenting and reporting findings, and the ability to maintain and operate testing equipment and vehicles.
• Bonus: Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
