The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time
• Type: Varied 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700), including rotating holidays and weekends
• Location: San Diego, CA (In-person)
• Pay: $25.95–$32.56 hourly
• Mission: Monitor patients on cardiac and/or SPO2 via advanced telemetry equipment, promptly reporting changes to Registered Nurses to ensure continuous oversight across a network of hospitals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor: Monitor patients on cardiac and/or SPO2 (continuous oxygen saturation) via advanced telemetry equipment, including during transport to and from procedures/units.
• Interpret: Interpret cardiac rhythms and SPO2 data, promptly reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse (RN) with prioritized notifications based on emergent patient needs.
• Maintain: Identify and maintain the integrity of the telemetry system, reporting all malfunctions and needed adjustments to ensure continuous operation.
• Document: Print telemetry strips and meticulously document findings per unit standards to maintain accurate patient records.
• Setup: Place patients on cardiac/SPO2 monitors, change batteries, and accurately set up leads following established protocols.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Successful completion of the Scripps Health EKG Examination during the interview process, demonstrating core cardiac rhythm interpretation knowledge.
• Experience: 6 months of cardiac monitoring experience is preferred.
• Skills: EKG interpretation, SPO2 data interpretation, arrhythmia monitoring, telemetry system maintenance, precise documentation.
• Bonus: Completion of formal telemetry training (class or online course), Electrocardiogram (EKG) or Arrhythmia Certification course, completion of a Paramedic, Cardio-Vascular, EMT, MD, or RN program, other cardiac-related programs, Basic Arrhythmia Certification, EKG certification, or EMT experience.
