The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Zions Bank, located in Midvale, Utah. Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is working to transform the experience of working for a financial institution through a commitment to technology and innovation. This role is crucial in driving the vision and execution for teams responsible for the bank’s ACH and Real Time Payments platforms. The Technology Product Owner will act as a key link between business strategy and technical development, aiming to enhance customer experiences and meet strategic enterprise objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Backlog management: Create, own, prioritize, and manage the team backlog by collaborating with product management, business stakeholders, and the development team.
• Feature specifications: Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they are clearly understood by the development teams.
• Agile Ceremony Leadership: Actively lead and participate in key team ceremonies, including iteration planning, refinement, demos, and retrospectives, serving as the primary proxy for the customer and business.
• Value Delivery & Acceptance: Assess technical feasibility, prioritize crucial enabler work to maintain team velocity, and accept stories based on strict acceptance criteria and customer intent, while mitigating roadblocks.
• Strategic Stakeholder Alignment: Continuously engage with business, technology, and product management stakeholders to translate incoming features and overarching visions into actionable, well-defined requirements for your teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, computer science, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience. This role requires an experienced Technology Product Owner with a track record of leadership and accountability.
• Experience: 6+ years of proven experience driving strategic product creation, accelerating value delivery, and utilizing product development practices. Alternatively, 4+ years of experience in product creation and delivery with a Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated success as a Product Owner in a large enterprise environment, utilizing scaling practices to build complex solutions.
• Skills: Exceptional facilitation, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to leadership. Ability to lead analysis and implementation of business systems by developing proposals, gathering requirements, and designing user acceptance test plans.
• Bonus: Experience with JIRA, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Confluence, or similar tools. Product Owner certification. Financial Product Owner experience.
