Technical Theatre Director | Barton Community College
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Barton Community College, located in Great Bend, KS. The college is expanding its Fine & Performing Arts Department and seeks a creative and enthusiastic individual to manage the technical and back-of-house operations for its Fine Arts Auditorium. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality mainstage productions, as well as supporting various college and community events, by overseeing all technical aspects and ensuring a safe production environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Manage all technical and back-of-house operations for the Barton Fine Arts Auditorium.
• Direction: Provide technical direction for all mainstage productions.
• Event Support: Oversee technical direction for various other college and community events hosted in the auditorium.
• Design: Facilitate the construction of sets, and the design of lighting and audio elements for productions and events.
• Safety: Ensure all safety procedures and protocols are strictly followed throughout the event production process.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level role requiring a two-year degree, or completion of specialized courses in technical theatre and/or event management.
• Experience: Six months to two years of similar experience in technical theatre or event management.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong communication and leadership skills necessary for coordinating with diverse college departments and community partners.
