Soccer Operations Internship – Equipment | Tampa Bay Sun FC

The Tone:
This is an internship at Tampa Bay Sun FC, located in Tampa, FL. Tampa Bay Sun FC is a professional soccer club dedicated to building engaging events for the community and fostering a competitive team environment. This vital role supports the core operations of the team, ensuring athletes and staff are fully equipped for success on and off the field. By managing essential equipment and apparel, this position directly contributes to seamless matchday experiences and efficient daily training.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship

• Mission: Guarantee athletes and staff have their essential equipment promptly, and assist with matchday and event operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Equipment Inventory: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all team apparel and equipment.
• Prepare Team Uniforms: Embellish team apparel with necessary sponsor logos and heat press uniforms according to league requirements.
• Support Daily Operations: Launder player and staff training and match apparel, then reset and prepare player and staff locker rooms with all necessary items for the next day.
• Facilitate Matchday Logistics: Assist with the comprehensive set-up and tear-down of the stadium and training facilities for match days, including managing stadium equipment inventory and event checklists.
• Provide On-Site Assistance: Be readily available to athletes and staff before, during, and after sessions to ensure all team apparel and equipment is in proper condition and accessible for immediate use.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work in tandem with and provide support to other departments within the Tampa Bay Sun FC organization, completing additional tasks as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student actively pursuing college credit, seeking an entry point into the competitive sports industry.
• Experience: Comfort working in an active environment, including standing for extended periods and the ability to lift, move, and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs on a regular basis. Demonstrated capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions for long periods and available for irregular hours including weekends, game days, nights, and holidays.
• Skills: Effective communication, strong attention to detail, solutions-oriented, strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
