Your contributions are vital to enhancing how students learn, how faculty teach, and how emerging technologies shape academic discovery across the university.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Curriculum Development: Actively participate in diverse teaching and learning initiatives across Duke University Libraries, contributing directly to the development of engaging lesson plans, comprehensive learning modules, practical research guides, and clear learning outcomes.
• Technology Investigation: Conduct investigations into the evolving impact of generative AI on undergraduate research and broader learning behaviors, then formulate and recommend effective strategies for its instructional integration.
• Student Engagement & Outreach: Support key outreach initiatives specifically designed for graduate students and early-career research fellows, additionally designing and implementing targeted outreach for the QuadEx residential program to engage sophomore and junior students.
• Instructional Delivery: Assist subject librarians in the effective delivery of instruction that aligns with the undergraduate curriculum, fostering essential critical thinking skills, and incorporating diverse resources and voices into specific Writing 120 instruction and related programming.
• Service Promotion: Actively promote a range of teaching and learning services through various channels, including organizing programs and events, drafting informative blog posts, and utilizing other creative outreach formats.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of a bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited advanced degree program.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest or prior experience in teaching within an academic setting, coupled with a strong desire to collaborate and engage with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and library staff.
• Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, alongside qualities of flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit, with a genuine interest in supporting diverse groups and fostering inclusive learning environments.
• Bonus: Experience working with underrepresented or diverse student populations.
