What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute to tax engagements across diverse specialty areas: Actively participate in engagements covering accounting for income taxes, accounting methods and periods, and federal credits and incentives.
• Support various client types: Engage with corporate taxation, individual taxation, pass-through entity taxation, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as private client services.
• Conduct tax planning and research: Perform comprehensive tax planning and research to ensure compliance and identify strategic opportunities for clients.
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns: Accurately complete and prepare federal and state & local tax returns under guidance.
• Understand tax regulations and accounting pronouncements: Develop a strong foundational understanding of complex tax regulations and relevant accounting pronouncements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship requiring current enrollment and progress towards a B.A. / B.S. degree in Accounting or an equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of 90 credit hours already completed.
• Experience: This role requires travel to assigned client locations; candidates must have access to and be able to arrange for reliable modes of transportation to these sites.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong computer proficiency, specifically including expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: A preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 is highly valued. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, and the capacity to efficiently multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
