Staff Accountant | CFS

The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time role at CFS, located in Atlanta, GA. CFS is a Fortune 500 organization headquartered in Atlanta with a growing national footprint. This role offers significant exposure to core corporate accounting functions, consolidations, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, working closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams across treasury, tax, finance, and financial systems. The role also provides an opportunity to develop experience supporting acquisitions and divestitures, and to work with advanced accounting technologies, including AI-powered tools and workflows.

• Mission: This person will ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, support key accounting processes, consolidated financial reporting, and maintain compliance with reconciliation policies.
• Tech Stack: AI-enabled accounting tools, Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile: Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules.
• Consolidate: Support month-end and quarter-end close processes and consolidated financial reporting.
• Facilitate: Assist with accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, reserves, treasury activity, and borrowings.
• Analyze: Perform detailed financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
• Audit: Support internal and external audit requests and maintain compliance with reconciliation policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience required.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills and experience with AI-enabled accounting tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude.
• Bonus: CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
