The Tone:
This is a Full-Time, Part-Time, and Seasonal role at Colleen Black & Co PC Inc, located in Billings, MT. Colleen Black & Co is a local CPA firm recognized for its income tax preparation and compliance team. This position is central to supporting all aspects of the tax preparation and compliance process, providing exposure to a range of tax issues facing individuals and businesses within a collaborative team setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare federal and state income taxes for individuals and businesses.
• Research & Planning: Conduct basic tax research and planning activities.
• Bookkeeping: Manage bookkeeping responsibilities for small businesses.
• Client Support: Assist with client communication as needed.
• Financial Support: Prepare calculations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for small businesses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Basic knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax matters.
• Experience: Proficient computer skills.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Detail-oriented; Team player with a positive attitude and high ethical standards.
• Bonus: Tax experience in public accounting; CPA or CPA candidate; Experience with Drake Tax or similar tax software; Flexibility to adapt to changing needs; Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines; High proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office programs.
