Supply Chain Operations Intern | Base Power Company

The Tone:
This is an internship at Base Power Company, located in-person in Texas. Base is America’s next-generation power company, rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries to transform the grid. This role is crucial as you will own real problems at the intersection of manufacturing, logistics, and software, directly contributing to scaling deployments across Texas. You will help turn manual workflows into repeatable processes, improve material movement, and build tooling to enable faster, more reliable battery installations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Sourcing: Support sourcing and purchasing initiatives for key components to enhance supply assurance, lead time reliability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
• Process and Flow Design: Help design efficient material flow and warehouse processes specifically for Factory 1 and field deployment operations.
• Inventory Optimization: Tune planning parameters like min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock to improve inventory accuracy and ensure material availability.
• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with 3PLs and carriers, troubleshooting shipment delays, and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
• Data Analysis & Tooling: Analyze operational data and build simple tools, dashboards, or trackers to automate manual work and increase supply chain visibility.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Operations, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, or a similar field.
• Experience: Internship or project experience in operations, manufacturing, product, logistics, or business analytics, with hands-on experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and collaboration tools (Slack, docs, task trackers like Jira/Notion/Confluence), and a builder mindset.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau/Looker/PowerBI).
